The Executive Office in Shabwah Governorate Holds Its Regular Session

On Tuesday morning, the Executive Office in Shabwah Governorate held its regular session for April of this year, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council and Deputy Governor, Mr. Abdrabuh Hushlah Nasser. The meeting was attended by the Governorate’s Deputies—Ahmed Saleh Al-Dughari, Fahd Bin Al-Dheeb Al-Khalifi, and Mohammed Ahmed Al-Fatimi—as well as Assistant Deputies Ali Mohammed Al-Kindi, Salem Ahmed Al-Nassi, Fahd Salem Al-Tawsali, and Salem Abdullah Al-Ahmadi.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Executive Office reviewed a detailed report on the activities of the Yemeni Oil Company’s Shabwah branch. The report addressed key challenges, particularly the shortage of diesel supplies for power stations and the suspension of the governorate’s share of subsidized petrol from the Marib facility. The office stressed the urgent need to implement the directives of the Minister of Oil and Minerals and the Executive Director of the Yemeni Oil Company to enable the Marib branch to supply the governorate with discounted diesel and petrol to improve electricity operating hours and provide essential services to citizens.

The Executive Office also discussed performance and revenue reports collected during the first quarter of 2025 from several government departments and agencies, including the Immigration and Passport Authority, the Civil Status and Civil Registry, and the Traffic Police. The reports highlighted executed activities, overall performance levels, and efforts to improve service quality.

A report on the activities of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled was also discussed, covering implemented programs, challenges faced, and the necessary requirements to strengthen the fund’s role. The office praised the fund’s efforts and called on the Prime Minister to expedite the establishment of a branch of the fund in the governorate.

The efforts of the Governor, Sheikh Awad Bin Al-Wazir, were commended, along with the generous support provided by the United Arab Emirates in improving and rehabilitating the headquarters of security agencies. The office emphasized the importance of continuing the efforts of the Traffic Police in organizing traffic and reducing road accidents.

Under the topic of societal issues, the meeting addressed the situation of illegal migrants in the city of Ataq and the resulting security and social challenges, renewing its call for the government to strengthen its support for the local authority in addressing this phenomenon.

The office also reviewed matters related to the governorate’s share of job allocations, affirming the governorate's right and the need to adhere to fair criteria in distributing jobs based on the number of retirees.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Executive Office stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation among various government agencies in the governorate to ensure the provision of services that meet citizens’ expectations under the current circumstances.

The meeting began with the reading and discussion of the minutes of the previous session, which were approved unanimously.
