The The Transitional Council's Political Authority assisting the Presidium held its periodic meeting on Thursday in the capital, Aden. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Khaled Bamdhaf, Deputy Head of the Body, and covered the second half of January 2024.

During the meeting, the Political Authority discussed the most recent developments in the political landscape at the national and regional levels. Specifically, they addressed the ongoing escalation by the terrorist Houthi militia on land and at sea, which hampers peace efforts and poses a direct threat to Arab and international security, particularly in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

The Political Authority praised the bravery of the personnel and officers of the Southern Armed Forces in the provinces of Dhale, Abyan, and Shabwa for their resilience against the terrorist Houthi militia's attacks and their desperate attempts to escalate military aggression against the South.

Furthermore, the Political Authority commended the successful visit of President Commander Aidarous Al-Zubaidi to Switzerland and his participation in the 54th World Economic Forum held in the Davos resort in the eastern part of the country. They also acknowledged the diplomatic meetings held by the President with heads of delegations and foreign ministers from several sisterly and friendly countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Political Authority approved its comprehensive plan  for the year 2024, as well as the plans of the affiliated bodies presented to the Political  Authority.
