The air defense units of the Southern Armed Forces successfully shot down a Houthi fixed-wing drone while it was flying over the Airim area in Al-Qabbaytah District, north of Lahj Governorate.

A military source from the Fourth Hazm Brigade said that the air defense units detected the Houthi drone as it flew over the skies of Airim and engaged it successfully, bringing it down before it could reach its intended target.

The source stated that the downed drone was a fixed-wing model, adding that it was of the same Iranian-made type that, according to the source, Tehran has supplied to the Houthi terrorist militia.

The source further affirmed that the Southern Armed Forces continue to protect their frontlines and civilian areas from Houthi aerial attacks amid escalating attempts by the militia to target military positions and populated areas. The source emphasized that the Southern Armed Forces' air defense units remained vigilant and successfully thwarted those attempts.
