The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council held its periodic meeting today, Thursday, headed by the Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Council's Presidium, Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi.
The meeting listened to a report presented by the Analytical Monitoring Decision Making Support Center for the month of February, and to a briefing by Saleh Mohsen Al-Hajj, head of the Southern National Dialogue Team, which included the team's activities during February, and its work plans during the next stage.
The Presidium also listened to a briefing by Mohammad Al-Ghaithi, Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and members of the Consultation Commission from the Council, in which they explained the efforts made by the Consultation Commission in order to accomplish its tasks entrusted to it.
The Chairman of the Commission emphasized that, within the framework of the Commission’s diagnosis of the situation, its committees submitted drafts to the meeting of the General Assembly, and during the deliberations, the members of the Transitional Council in the Commission presented their observations and written amendments on all issues in accordance with the vision of the Southern Transitional Council, which bears the cause of the people of the south and the Council’s goal of restoring its southern state and the capital, Aden.
The members of the Consultation Committee of the Council also indicated that the discussions that took place confirm the seriousness of the Transitional Council for the sake of the partnership produced by the Riyadh consultations in April 2022, stressing that there are no political agreements or final approved documents as promoted by the media.
The Chairman of the Commission added that the Commission will work to collect the observations and amendments of the members and their deliberations, to measure the level of consensus and its opportunities, as well as the chances of reconciliation in accordance with the recognition of the issues of these forces, and at the forefront of that is the issue of the people of the south and the development of a special negotiating framework for it in the negotiations to stop the war and the political process, indicating that the Commission will continue to discuss the issues that was tasked with to support the PLC.
In this regard, the Presidium, in its meeting, praised the efforts made by the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and the members of the Southern Transitional Council, and affirmed its support for them. The meeting also affirmed the Southern Transitional Council's adherence to its national goal, which it will not deviate from, and will not accept others, regardless of the challenges.
