The Presidium of the Transitional Council: The decisions of the Economic Council are ill-considered and harm the citizen

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council, in its meeting that wad held on Wednesday, chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi, stood before a number of developments on the national scene, foremost of which was the Council of Ministers’ approval of the decisions issued by the Supreme Economic Council, to raise the price of the customs dollar, and to raise the tariffs for some basic services, and the negative impact of these decisions on the living lives of citizens.
 In this regard, the Presidium renewed its objection to those ill-considered decisions, as they will cause an increase in the living burdens of citizens, as well as their direct economic impact on the commercial activity of the port of Aden and the movement of imports in it, calling for the speedy return of those decisions to the Council of Minister's table for discussion, and the search for other alternatives that sound to supplement the state budget with resources that don't harm the life of the citizen.
 The Presidium also demanded the parity government to reduce expenditures and adopt the principle of austerity, and not to waste money on activities that are not related to the livelihood of citizens in light of the difficult economic conditions that our country is going through, and in this regard Al-Hayat expressed her rejection of the Aden Winter event to be held by the Ministry of Meida, Culture and Tourism, which the government has approved millions of riyals for it, and its better to approve them to activities that advance the reality of media, cultural and tourism institutions, and alleviate the suffering of its employees who face difficult situations .
 In a separate context, the Presidium stressed the need to link the community mediation project, which is being implemented by a number of organizations in the capital, Aden, to community committees associated with the local authorities authorized to carry out these tasks in coordination with the security authorities.
 The Presidium also saluted the first conference of southern journalists and media professionals, declaring its blessing for all its decisions, foremost of which was the establishment of the Southern Journalists and Media Syndicate, as an entity incubating all southern journalists and media professionals, expressing their opinions and aspirations and defending their rights after years of exclusion and marginalization.
As well as it affirmed that the emergence of this southern Syndicate to the light is a great step on the road to completing the restoration of the institutions of the southern state, calling on in the context of all the late segments of society to complete the procedures for their framing in the Southern Syndicate, so that they all contribute to building the desired southern state.
 At the end of its meeting, the Presidium recommended the formation of a group work headed by the economic counselor to the President of the Transitional Council, Dr. Abdulsalam Hamid, with the participation of the economic authorities in the General Secretariat, the National Assembly and the Supreme Economic Committee to search for appropriate solutions and alternatives to resources, and submit them to the Council’s ministers for presentation in the government meetings.
