Women's Center in a meeting with graduates of the MA in Women's Studies and Development

The meeting was held in the seminars hall of the University of Aden, hosted by the Women’s Center for Research and Training, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program and with the support of the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) “within the project to promote gender equality and the agenda of women, peace and security.”
The meeting was held in the presence of the visit of the delegation from the Swedish Agency (Sida), the UNDP-YEMEN, the presidency of the University of Aden and the leadership of the Women’s Center and they are Mr. Adam Bergman - Program Officer in Sana'a and Aden, Ms. Joanna Johnson - Program Officer in Sana'a and Aden, Ms. Alaa Al-Haddad - Specialist for Gender and Social Inclusion, UNDP Yemen Aden, Mr. Klaus Christensen - Strategic Planning Specialist, United Nations Development Program, Yemen, Sana'a, Aden.
The meeting was inaugurated with the participation of the university’s presidency, Dr. Al-Khidr Nasser Lasour, the leadership of the center represented by Dr. Hoda Ali Alawi, Dr. Hoda Baslim, Dr. Nada Al-Sayed Hassan, Dr. Zahra Al-Habal, and (20) male and female graduates from the Women’s Studies and Development Program.
Dr. Huda Ali Alawi, Director of the Women's Center for Research and Training, addressed a welcoming speech to all the guests and attendees, expressing her happiness at their presence in Yemen to embody the relationship and communication between male and female graduates and facilitate the provision of all their necessary needs rather than the success of their societal contributions and effecting change.
Dr. Huda indicated the idea of ​​the project through the establishment of a peace building network for gender equality from (75) females (25) males graduates of the Women's Center.. She emphasized that the project aims through the establishment of the network of women and youth to enhance their roles in the agenda of women, peace and security.. she added about enhancing their capacity to play the roles of advocates for gender equality.
The guests of the delegation also thanked both the Swedish Agency (Sida) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Yemen) all those present for their reception, their welcome and their willingness to overcome difficulties with the efforts they made in this project.. They made it clear that there must be sustainable development in Yemen through enabling Women and their inclusion... Notably, they have equality policies that focus on women's rights, and women's inclusion is an essential component in a scientific way.

The delegation, accompanied by Dr. Huda Alawi, toured the departments of the Women's Center and opened the informatics hall, which was rehabilitated with the latest electronic devices, internet services and video conferencing within the framework of this project.
In the end, the delegation was honored with honorary shields and memorial photos were taken.
