The Cooperative & Agricultural Credit Bank (CAC Bank), represented by the Acting Chairman and CEO, Mr. Hashed Al-Hamdani, participated in the 2025 Annual Arab Banking Conference held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on April 28–29. The event was held under the theme: "Public-Private Partnership for Financing the Economy."

The conference is organized by the Union of Arab Banks under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Mr. Hassan Abdallah, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt, the Federation of Egyptian Banks, and the International Union of Arab Bankers.

The conference witnessed broad participation from over 600 banking and financial leaders, including central bank governors, ministers of finance and economy, and representatives from both the public and private sectors. The goal was to foster joint cooperation to stimulate economic growth in the Arab world.

During his participation, Mr. Hashed Al-Hamdani emphasized the importance of strengthening public-private partnerships to achieve sustainable development, stating: “The current stage requires concerted efforts across sectors to drive economic growth. At CAC Bank, we believe that constructive cooperation between the public and private sectors is the cornerstone for achieving comprehensive and sustainable economic stability in our Arab region.”

He added: “Our participation in this conference reaffirms our continued commitment to supporting economic and banking initiatives that contribute to building a better future.”

Al-Hamdani also highlighted the strong relationship between CAC Bank and the Egyptian banking sector, noting that the bank maintains strategic partnerships and close cooperation with several leading Egyptian banks in areas such as syndicated financing and mutual banking services. These collaborations contribute to enhancing trade and investment exchange between Yemen and Egypt and support the bank’s direction toward regional and Arab market expansion.

The conference addressed several vital issues, most notably the role of public-private partnerships in financing economic growth, the contribution of Islamic banking to economic development and sustainability, innovative financing mechanisms for PPP projects, the role of multilateral development banks and international financial institutions in supporting such projects, and the regulatory and policy frameworks required for effective partnerships.

This year’s Cairo conference witnessed notable participation from Arab and international financial institutions representing 23 countries from the Arab world and Europe, underscoring the significance of the event and its pivotal role in developing the Arab banking sector.

It is worth noting that the Annual Arab Banking Conference has been held for over 25 years in various Arab capitals. Doha hosted the 2024 edition, while Riyadh hosted it in 2023. The conference is considered one of the most prominent Arab banking events, tackling strategic topics on both regional and international levels.
