The Relief Authority of the Transitional Council Organizes a Workshop on the Fundamentals of Humanitarian Work in Lahij

On Wednesday, the Relief and Humanitarian Affairs Authority supporting the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council organized a workshop titled "Fundamentals of Humanitarian Work and Relief" for the directors of the Executive Authority departments of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Lahij Governorate.

Anwar Hizam, the Deputy Head of the Relief and Humanitarian Affairs Authority, explained the importance of this workshop in equipping the members of the authority with information, knowledge, and experience in humanitarian and relief work to perform their roles effectively in this regard.

Hizam affirmed that the implementation of the workshop in Lahij Governorate is a continuation of the Relief Authority's program to form relief and humanitarian teams in the southern governorates, aiming to establish a fundamental nucleus for humanitarian and relief work with organizations, institutions, and local committees, and to achieve sustainable development by converting assistance into strategic projects according to a database and targeting plan.

The Deputy Head of the Relief and Humanitarian Affairs Authority urged the members of the Executive Authority of the transitional council in the governorate to benefit from the workshop topics to enhance their capabilities and reflect them in practical terms to serve the community and alleviate its suffering.

The workshop presented an overview of humanitarian and relief work, introduced the "Sphere" project and the humanitarian charter, and addressed protection principles, the importance of monitoring humanitarian and relief-related work, and how to establish a work mechanism.
