On Monday, March 4th, the Ramadan tournament in memory of the late Dr. Najib Al-Awj, may he rest in peace, commenced with the participation of 22 teams from the elite popular teams in the province of Aden, known for its large fan base and the presence of high-caliber players, under the generous sponsorship of CAC Bank, the Agricultural Cooperative and Credit Bank.

The opening day of the tournament witnessed the organization of five matches, with the following results:

In the first match, Al-Kafan team managed to defeat  Doctors team with a score of 3-1.

In the second match,  Lenin team won against Russian team with a score of 2-0.

In the third match, Al-Sa'ada Union won against Al-Qadisiyah through penalty shootouts after the match ended in a goalless draw, making it one of the most exciting matches of the first round.

In the fourth match, the October team outperformed the Leader team with a score of 3-0.

In the final match of the first day of the tournament, Al-Rashid defeated the Areef's Cubs through penalty shootouts after the  match ended in a 1-1 draw.

On Tuesday, March 6th (the second day of the tournament), six matches will be held in the same round, where the following teams will face each other:

Al-Sumood vs. Al-Arish Union
Al-Arish Ahli vs. Al-Nasr
Al-Shabab vs. Al-Samasim
Al-Way vs. Al-Ahmadi
Al-Madina Al-Baydaa vs. Al-Douh
Al-Arish Stars vs. Ahli Jamal

The opening day of the tournament was attended by several sports and social figures, including Captain Abdullah Awad, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Khormaksar district, the well-known social figure Abu Qasim Al-Bakhshi, Captain Wadah Muqbil, the Director of Al-Jala'a Sports Club, and a number of social and sports figures in the district.
