The Political Body, which assists the  Southern Transitional Council's Presidium, held its periodic meeting for the first half of February 2024 on Thursday in the capital, Aden. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Khaled Bamdahf, the Deputy Chairman of the Body.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Body read the minutes of the previous meeting and approved them. It reviewed two reports on the general local and international political scene, as well as the military report presented by Brigadier Fadl Ma'abad, the Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the Southern Armed Forces, to be informed about the developments in the general military situation and the military developments in the southern governorates on various fronts adjacent to the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

The Body discussed the new changes in the Cabinet Presidency, emphasizing the importance of the government taking urgent action to improve the deteriorating economic situation and bringing about tangible changes in all state institutions, revitalizing the service situation, and the need to alleviate the suffering of the citizens in the southern governorates.

In its meeting, the Body affirmed the importance of embracing the strategy mentioned by President Commander Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council and the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Council, in his directive speech regarding dealing with and monitoring the government's performance in all aspects.

The Body discussed the recent terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait, which caused significant losses to the economies of the region and the country, and may hinder efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement.

The Body reviewed its agenda and presented its proposals and recommendations.
