The local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the governorate of Abyan held its expanded meeting for the fourth quarter of 2023 in the city of Zinjibar, the capital of the governorate, under the chairmanship of the Head of the Executive Body, Mr. Hassan Ghaythan Al-Kazmi.
During the meeting, which was held under the slogan "On the Path to Restoring the Southern Federal State," Mr. Hassan Ghaythan delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of the meeting, which was held on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the Southern Martyrs' Day. He renewed the commitment to the blood of the martyrs and the wounded, commemorating their sacrifices during the stages of struggle, revolution, armed struggle, and the sacrifices of the heroes of the Southern Armed Forces and the Southern Security who were martyred in the path of liberating and establishing an independent federal state in the South.
The Executive Head of the Transitional Council in Abyan thanked the members of the local leadership for their active participation, which reflects their level of concern, responsibility, and awareness of the importance of meetings that provide an opportunity for everyone to participate and discuss the major concerns and difficulties that may affect the performance of the Council's institutions. They also discussed the available alternatives through consultation and the presentation of opinions and proposals that contribute to addressing challenges and overcoming obstacles.
Mr. Ghaythan addressed the political arena and the expansion of the conflict's scope, as well as the internal, regional, and international goals and interests. He expressed his confidence that the South has become a political party that no force can ignore. He also pointed out that the political leadership is engaged in the battle to determine the Southern political future, and the current ramifications on the ground are simply natural pressures through which the progress of the cause and the steadfastness of our political leadership in the Southern Transitional Council can be read.
The meeting reviewed the organizational report for the fourth quarter of the previous year, which included an explanation of the action plans, reports of the executive body meetings, the level of implementation of decisions, and reports on the achievements of the council's institutions in the province and districs.
The meeting commended the political role of President Commander Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, and the victories achieved for the cause of the Southern people in international and regional arenas, as well as the achievements of our Southern armed forces in all fronts, fighting terrorism.
The meeting called for urgent solutions to the electricity and service crisis, the protection of agricultural lands from being transformed into residential plans, and the preservation of the agricultural areas in the Delta and other agricultural regions. It emphasized the need to protect archaeological sites. The participants also expressed their rejection of illegal levies, which are one of the sources of financial and administrative corruption.
