At the beginning of the meeting, which included Mr. Abdo Al-Naqib, Assistant Secretary-General, heads of departments of the Secretariat, and some members of the National Assembly of the Transitional Council and the Research and Decision Support Center, Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi welcomed the Moroccan journalist Toufik, noting that Jazouli had been a defender of the cause of the southern people and witnessed the massacres suffered by the southern people during the summer war of 1994 by the Sana'a regime.
Mr. Mo'men Al-Saqqaf, a member of the Council's Presidium and the Head of the Executive Authority of the Local Leadership of the Transitional Council in the capital, also spoke during the meeting. He stated that Toufik Jazouli conveyed the suffering of the southern people in the 1994 war in detail and was a witness to those sacrifices.
Mr. Lotfi Shattara, the head of the Research and Decision Support Center, also spoke, stating that the Moroccan journalist had witnessed the suffering of the southern people through his coverage of events on MBC channel. He added that the leadership of the Transitional Council, with the support of their brethren in the Arab coalition, has made significant progress in protecting the land and rehabilitating the southern army.
For his part, Toufik Jazouli spoke about the fact that three decades have passed since the 1994 war, which was far from religion, ethics, and violated international law and the international system. The southern people have been subjected to the most heinous massacres and severe suffering by the Sana'a regime from the beginning of the occupation until 2015. He praised the steps taken by President Commander Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, to unify the southern ranks, which have strengthened the cause of the southern people regionally and globally. He emphasized that the current stage is critical and requires significant efforts to convey the cause of the southern people to the world.
Jazouli said, "The people of the south have a legitimate right to regain their independent state according to international law," adding that the Southern State had full membership in the United Nations and the Arab League until 1990. The meeting witnessed several interventions and opinions from the participants to enhance the ways of conveying the voice of the southern people internally and externally in various fields.
