The official spokesman for the Southern Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Al-Naqib, confirmed the continuation of the battle against terrorism, its organizations, its sources of funding, and its intellectual and material tributaries, adding that a battle is a battle of existence, and its resolution is a fateful goal and an inevitable choice.

This came during a statement mourning the martyrdom of Captain Arif Qasim Abdullah Al-Hazmi, commander of the 1st Battalion in the 6th Support Brigade, and Ammar Ali Hammadi, a company commander, following the detonation of an explosive device in Abyan Governorate.

The following is the text of the statement: In the context of continuing the war on terrorism and resolving the battle to eradicate it, doubling the pace of procedures for prosecuting and tracking terrorist elements, and dealing with networks of mines and explosive devices planted by members of the organization on a large scale from the theater of Operation Arrows of the East in Abyan Governorate, units of our security and military forces continued their tasks with unparalleled courage and heroism, and at the same time, during the heroic missions and deeds, this Saturday morning, two officers from the ranks of our forces rose and wounded nine of their colleagues, by detonating an explosive device that targeted a military patrol belonging to the Sixth Support Brigade between Al-Quz and the Qalita area, east of the Mudiya District, Abyan Governorate.

As we express our sincere condolences and sympathies to all our comrades-in-arms from the commandos of our armed forces and to the families of the two heroic martyrs, let us affirm our great pride in the epic march that the two martyrs took, Captain/Arif Qasim Abdullah Al-Hazmi, Commander of the First Battalion in the Sixth Support Brigade, and Ammar Ali Hammadi, Company Commander, in  All the military and security tasks and roles on the border fronts, and the war on terrorism and eradication operations, as they were like their colleagues, as their homeland, the South, wanted them to be heroes of decisiveness and makers of victories and glories.

In the face of the purification of this pure blood and its renewed majestic status of strength, determination, will, generations, courage and redemption, we affirm that our battle against terrorism, its organizations, its sources of funding, and its intellectual and material tributaries, is continuous and unrelenting, and that it is a battle of existence and destiny. Our southern Armed Forces have been able, with great sacrifices, to achieve great and distinguished successes and victories on all fields and directions.  The importance and gain of these achievements have gone beyond the southern national dimension to the regional and international dimension.
