The Governor of Abyan Governorate, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, on Tuesday, in the presence of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ahmed Nasser Jarfush, and the Director General of the Branch Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in the Governorate, Mr. Yahya Ahmed Al-Yazidi, discussed with the team of the National Network for Advocating the Rights of People with Disabilities, headed by Al-Rumisa Yaqoub, Head of the Network, the needs of people of determination and activating their role in all sectors in Abyan Governorate and a number of topics related to the rights of people of determination.

The Director General of Social Affairs and Labor and the head of the National Network for Advocacy for People of Determination reviewed the difficulties facing people of determination in society, the failure to integrate  them within the framework of society in education, the deprivation of their rights specified in the law, and the failure to include them in influential positions due to disability despite the presence of competencies holding high certificates in several fields and not being granted their right, which is legally limited to five percent of the governorate’s job.

In turn, the governor of the governorate indicated that, in addition to people of determination, they deserve care and attention, expressing his willingness to include them in a site where they can work and prove their presence, stressing that they are part of society and must have an active role in it. The Director General of Social Affairs directed that two people of determination be accommodated in each site according to their specialization and he praised the efforts of the National Foundation to Advocate the Rights of People of Determination in defending the rights of people of determination and activating their role in society.

The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Branch Office of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in the Governorate, Attorney Ali Rajeh, the Director General of the Abyan Governor’s Office, Suleiman Al-Wakud, the Deputy Director General of the Information Office in the Governorate, Muhammad Saleh Abdul Rahman, and from the National Network for People of Determination, the Projects and Activities Officer, Mukhtar Basardah, the Wounded Officer, Muhammad Al-Saqqaf, and the Sports Officer, Islam Dahmas.
