President Al-Zubaidi receives a delegation from the European Institute of Peace

President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received on Saturday the second of July at the council’s headquarters in the capital, Aden, a delegation from the European Institute for Peace headed by the Director of Programs at the Institute, Jimmy Bledel, and the regional advisor on the Yemen file at the Institute and Thanos  Bitoris.
 During the meeting, the Leader was briefed on the efforts made by the European Institute in supporting the peace process in the region in general, and in the south in particular, stressing the importance of the Institute's support for the Southern National Dialogue led by the Transitional Council to unite the southern ranks.
 The Leader reiterated the support of the Southern Transitional Council for the efforts of the envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the American envoy to reach a sustainable solution to the conflict in the region, stressing that peace will not be achieved in the region except by granting the people of the south the right to self-determination in a manner that meets their aspirations.
 In turn, the Director of Programs at the European Institute for Peace expressed his happiness at visiting the capital, Aden, and meeting President Al-Zubaidi, stressing that the European Institute is well aware of the size of the Southern Transitional Council and its impact on the ground, and is keen to work with the council’s leadership and support its efforts to unite the southern ranks and unify visions to reach  Southern consensus achieves the aspirations of the people of the south.
 The meeting was attended by Mr. Lotfi Shatara, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice-President of the Assembly, and Raafat Saleh Abdel Hamid, Head of the Organizations Department in the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Council.
