Today, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, and the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Eng. Mani’ bin Yameen Al-Nahdi, the Governor of Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Al-Zaabi, inspected the solar energy station being implemented in Bir Ahmed area in the capital, Aden.
During the field visit, President Al-Rubaidi was briefed on the level of achievement in the station project, the works being implemented, and the date of its completion and entry into service, expressing his satisfaction with the level of work and the great efforts being made to complete this vital project, to be the first major projects to generate energy from renewable natural sources that help in finding sustainable solutions for electricity.
Al-Zubaidi directed the supervising authorities to intensify efforts, double the work, and accelerate the completion of the project and bring it into service as soon as possible, stressing the importance of training a local cadre to manage and operate the project, and to perform regular maintenance of the station and maintain it until it is put into service.
Al-Zubaidi renewed his thanks and appreciation to the brothers in the United Arab Emirates for their sincere fraternal stances, their support for our people in various circumstances, and their unlimited support for our country in all fields, saying: “We pledged to them always and forever.”
It is worth noting that this project is the first of its kind in Aden, and is the first building block in the field of renewable energy, which will be followed by other steps and projects that are currently being arranged in coordination with our brothers in the United Arab Emirates.
