Professor Ali Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, met today, Wednesday, with Dr. Muhammad Ali Nasser, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at the University of Aden.

Al-Kathiri was briefed by Dr. Muhammad on the progress of the Faculty of Mass Communication, the academic programmes, the progress of the Faculty's educational process for the Bachelor’s and Master’s courses, and the challenges and difficulties facing the Deanship of the Faculty in developing and qualifying it to keep pace with the rapid media development.

The meeting touched on the efforts made by the Deanship of the Faculty of Mass Communication and its teaching staff, which resulted in transforming the Department of Media in the Faculty of Arts into an independent college that meets the aspirations of its members and supplies the labor market with media cadres capable of performing its mission with high professionalism.

The Chairman of the Assembly stressed the role played by the Faculty of Mass Communication and its leadership’s tireless pursuit of modernization and development to keep pace with the latest developments, and its importance as a true supporter of southern media bodies and institutions, expressing the readiness of the Transitional Council, through its competent bodies and departments, for continuous cooperation and coordination with the Faculty's leadership to ensure that the desired success is achieved.
