The Transitional Council Head in Abyan Meets with the Community Committee in Al-Lakeda and Reviews Citizen's  Demands

Mr. Hassan Munser Ghaithan Al-Kazmi, Head of the Executive Body of the Local Leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Abyan Governorate, met today, Wednesday, with the Chairman of the Civil Community Committee in  Al-Lakidah area in Batis, in the Khanfar District, Sheikh Abdul Latif Saeed Ali.


During the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Transitional Governorate, Mr. Ali Sheikh Al-Suri, and the Commander of the First Brigade, Martyrs of the Southern Resistance, Commander Talal Al-Kaldi, Ghaithan listened to citizens’ complaints due to the damage caused to the area as a result of the phenomenon of severe explosions carried out by the Bates Cement Factory, which causes vibrations in citizens’ homes and oils which were poured in the vicinity of the factory and its risks to the environment, citizens, agricultural soil, groundwater, and the emission of polluted air from the furnace chimneys.


The meeting addressed the deprivation of many necessary services in the health, education and sanitation aspects of the region and the villages adjacent to the cement factory, and the importance of absorbing the youth workforce in the factory.


Ghaithan pointed out the necessity of protecting public and private property and supporting and protecting investment and economic projects that benefit citizens by adopting development and service projects without harming the interests and property of citizens.




 Emphasizing the necessity of implementing the agreement of the committee appointed by the Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, which reviewed a number of issues and causes surrounding the environment surrounding the factory, without harming the interests of both parties.
