Al-Kathiri Confirms the Transitional Council’s keenness to Find Comprehensive Solutions to Southern Retirees

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and Chairman of the National Assembly, met on Wednesday with the leadership of the General Association of Southern Civilian Retirees, headed by Hisham Abdo Saeed Al-Sufi.

The meeting discussed the conditions of civilian retirees and the difficult living conditions they endure, the issues of those forcibly deported and laid off from their jobs since the invasion of the south in the summer of 1994, and what retirees face as a result of being deprived of health insurance, settlements, and the cessation of the retirement fund.

Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed the interest of the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, headed by President Commander Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, in all retired and forcibly deported southern civilians and military personnel, in following up on their issues and rights, and in working to find comprehensive treatments and solutions for them with the relevant authorities, in order to enable them to obtain their full and undiminished entitlements as a small part of their strenuous efforts in serving the nation.

Al-Kathiri stressed the importance of strengthening the work of the Retired Civilian Association through communication with government institutions and competent jurisdictions to recover their financial rights, expressing the readiness of the National Assembly, through its competent committees, to work with the Retired Civilian Association in a way that helps it accomplish its tasks with all efficiency and ability.
