President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Dupety-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, His Excellency Gabriel Monuera Viñals, Ambassador of the European Union to Yemen.

 The two discussed developments in the political, humanitarian, military, and security situation in our country, regional and international efforts aimed at ending the war and bringing peace to the region, and the role played by the European Union delegation in supporting the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, to revive the economic situation and lift the human suffering of our people.

 

 During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi renewed his position in supporting peace and the efforts made by the envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to end the conflict in our country, and to start a comprehensive peace process, stressing the centrality of the issue of the people of the south in any future solution.

President Al-Zubaidi also stressed the importance of activating the negotiation team approved by the Presidential Leadership Council, and enabling it to carry out the tasks entrusted to it in managing the negotiation file as a representative of the various forces within the framework of the Council.

 For his part, Ambassador Vinals affirmed the European Union's firm support for efforts to end the war and bring peace to our country, once again the support of the EU countries for the Presidential Leadership Council and the parity government in their efforts to achieve economic reforms, stop the deterioration of the economic situation, improve services, and enhance relief and humanitarian work in light of the difficult living conditions that our people live.

 The meeting was attended by Mr. Amr Al-Beidh, member of the Presidency of the Council, Special Representative of the President of the Council for Foreign Affairs, and Imad Mohammad, Director of the Office of the Dupety chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and from the European side, Mohammad Ayoub, Political Officer at the European Union to Yemen, Milos Tosik, Political Officer at the European Union to the United Arab Emirates.
