President of Zubaidi: Comprehensive peace will only be achieved by addressing the roots of conflict and dealing with the reality on the ground

President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the southern Transitional Council, Dupety-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council at his residence ,in the Saudi capital Riyadh, received his Excellency Stephen Howed, US Ambassador to Yemen.
The meeting discussed the developments of political and humanitarian conditions in our country under the Houthi escalation in various fronts and the efforts nade in the fight against terrorism and addressing the deteriorating economic situation due to Houthi attacks on economic establishments. 
The President stressed the need to unify efforts to address the challenges posed by terrorist Houthi militias, as well as the economic conditions that require the speed of dealing with them, stressing the need for the international and regional society to be responsible for this aspect.
The President also has reiterated its support for peace efforts, noting that comprehensive and lasting peace is achieved by committing the principles undertaken by the partnership emanating from the Riyadh Agreement and the consultations of the Gulf Cooperation Council, addressing the causes and roots of conflict, and dealing with reality on the ground, and at the forefront of this resolve the issue of the people of the South according to its legitimate political aspects of the South Transitional Council.
For his part, the US ambassador affirmed his country's presidential and government efforts to deal with economic and security challenges, praising our efforts in its fight with terrorist and extremist groups, and the sewage of the context on the need to support  these efforts for the safety and stability of the region and the maritime shipping lines in Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, Chairman of the General Directorate for Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the Presidency and Reconciliation Commission in the Presidential Leadership Council and Amad Mohammad, Director of the Office of the Deputy-Chairman of the Leadership Council, and Saleh Al-Qaiti, representative of the foreign affairs of the Southern Transitional Council.
