On Tuesday, the Southern National Dialogue team at home held an extensive meeting with representatives of the local authority in Socotra Governorate, in the presence of Eng. Raafat Ali Al-Thaqali, the governorate’s governor.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Thaqali stressed that restoring the southern state requires unifying the word of all its citizens without marginalizing or excluding any political component, regardless of differences in visions and differences.
For his part, Dr. Abd al-Salam Massad, deputy head of the Southern National Dialogue Team, explained that the team's visit to Socotra comes within a previously defined plan, and based on the directives of President Commander Aidarous al-Zubaidi, in order to work to achieve a better situation that meets the aspirations of all southerners.
Massad stressed that the Socotra Archipelago is one of the most important strategic, historical and environmental areas that receive great attention from the political leadership.
During the meeting, several interventions and proposals were presented, which aimed at developing a vision and mechanism that would enhance unity and national cohesion.
