The Presidency of the Transitional Council stands before the developments of the UN armistice and the efforts of the Ministry of Electricity to improve service

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its regular meeting  on Saturday, September 24, headed by President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, head of the council.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Presidency has listened to a briefing by the Minister of Electricity and Energy in the parity government, Eng. Mana’ bin Yamin, during which he reviewed the ministry’s situation, the accumulated problems faced by the ministry’s leadership, the obstacles that hinder its work, the efforts made to improve the service, and the strategic plans that the ministry’s leadership is working on to put solutions to the lack of energy supply in the capital, Aden, and the liberated governorates, next summer.
In this regard, the Presidency has affirmed its support for the minister's efforts in his endeavors to fix imbalances, eliminate corruption spots in the ministry's corridors, start implementing strategic projects for power generation, work on developing the transmission and distribution network, and eliminate random connections to reduce waste.
In this context, the Presidency has urged the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance to stand by the leadership of the Ministry of Electricity and support it in accomplishing its tasks by clearing the financial transactions of the Ministry first-hand, in a way that enables the Ministry to fulfill its obligations, and to move forward with its plans to address the electricity crisis and prepare for the coming summer, as well as the necessity of activating the role of the Central Organization for Control and Accountability to combat corruption in all ministries, and to expose corruption elements in state institutions and hold them accountable.
Politically, the Presidency has heard a briefing by a member of the Presidency, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Dr. Nasser Muhammad Al-Khubaji, about the council’s team’s visit to the German capital Berlin and the results of its meetings with German officials and prospects for strengthening bilateral relations, and the German role in pushing the peace process in the region in line with the changes on the ground and in order to meet the aspirations of the people of the south and their right to self-determination and their future.
In a separate context, the Presidency has discussed the regional and international movement aimed at extending the UN armistice and advancing the peace process. In this regard, the Presidency reiterated the position of the Southern Transitional Council, which seeks peace and supports the efforts made by the envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen and the international community to establish peace, noting that any talk about extending the armistice is mainly related to the extent to which the armistice provides the elements of peace in the south and the participation of the Transitional Council in negotiations to achieve them, and the extent of the Houthi militia’s commitment to the provisions of the armistice and the respect of its commitments.
At the end , the Presidency stood before the developments on the southern national arena, in addition to a number of organizational issues related to the work of the Council, and took the necessary measures in this regard.
