Dr. Al-Khobaji is Discussing with International Institute for Democracy and Elections Developments in Comprehensive Political Process

 On Thursday, Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, Head of the Political Authority, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, discussed in his office in the capital, Aden, the developments of the comprehensive political process with the Director of the Main Program in Africa and West Asia at the International Institute for Democracy and Elections, Mr. Zaid Al-Ali, and the project coordinator in Yemen, Mr. Shaker Badr.
 During the meeting, Dr. Al-Khobaji praised the efforts undertaken by the International Institute for Democracy and Elections in the region and around the world, reaffirming the positions of the Transitional Council in supporting democracies, freedoms, peace and human rights.
 Al-Khobaji indicated that the outcomes of the Southern National Dialogue and the sixth session of the National Assembly created a national consensus on the need for the issue of the people of the South to be present in the political process through a special negotiating framework in which it is represented by the Southern Transitional Council.
 In turn, Mr. Al-Ali gave an explanation on the work and programs of the Institute and the response to national initiatives to strengthen the active parties that build and protect democracy.
 Al-Ali stressed the importance of the participation of the active parties, led by the Southern Transitional Council, in the political process, expressing the Institute's readiness to help chart the course of the political process and present proposals and recommendations.
