A statement from the Presidency of the Republic regarding the fast track to absorb Saudi-Emirati support

 An official source in the Presidential Leadership Council said that the brothers in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia agreed on an urgent path to absorb Saudi-Emirati funds estimated at about three billion and 300 million dollars, starting with a package of development projects and oil shipments to operate government power stations.
 Below is the text of the statement.
 In continuation of the generous support, and the firm humanitarian and brotherly stances of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his trusted Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and as a culmination of the efforts of His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and members of the Council,  In order to accelerate the absorption of Saudi-Emirati funds estimated at about three billion and 300 million dollars in support of the Central Bank of Yemen and development and humanitarian projects in the country, starting with facilitating urgent support through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, which enjoys high confidence and appreciation from the Yemeni people and their political leadership, through its interventions  And his tangible contributions in all service and development fields.
 In continuation of these efforts, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and members of the Council received in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during his private visit, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense, who conveyed to His Excellency and the members of the Council the greetings of his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.  King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and their best wishes for health and wellness, and their generous directives to adopt a plan for urgent development intervention in Yemen.
 Under the urgent plan, the brothers agreed to support a package of development projects worth $400 million, in addition to $200 million to provide oil derivatives to government power stations in the liberated governorates.
 The support plan includes about 17 projects and a development program in 6 vital sectors programmed as follows:
 First: Approval of the urgent development projects proposal:
 The SDRPY launches a package of vital projects that serve all governorates, giving priority to the temporary capital, Aden, and includes six sectors:
  (Energy, transport, education, water, health, and building state institutions) so that the immediate start of implementing projects that have all requirements met as follows:
 1. The project of establishing a gas station to generate electricity in the governorate of Aden.
 2. The project of establishing medium voltage electrical networks in the governorate of Aden.
 3. The project of establishing low voltage electrical distribution networks in Aden Governorate.
 4. The project of establishing a sea water desalination plant for the city of Aden with a capacity of 10 thousand cubic meters.
 5. Aden International Airport Development Project (Phase Two).
 6. A project to develop and raise the efficiency of navigation and communication systems at Aden International Airport.
 7. The project of implementing the sea road and its intersections in the city of Aden.
 8. Implementation of solar-powered road lighting systems in Aden Governorate.
 9. The project to enhance water sources using clean energy in the governorate of Aden.
 10. Building the capacity of state institutions.
 11. The project of establishing sports arenas for youth in the governorate of Aden.
 12. The project of establishing a center for the rehabilitation of disabled children in the governorate of Aden.
 13. Operation and management project of the Republic Hospital in Aden.
 14. The project of establishing and equipping the university hospital and cancer center at the University of Hadhramaut.
 15. The project to establish a center for the treatment of oncology in the province of Taiz.
 16. The project of establishing and equipping the College of Medicine in Taiz Governorate.
 17. Implementation of the Taiz-Al-Kadha Al-Mokha road project in the governorate of Taiz.
 Second: Securing the operation of power stations:
 Directing the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and the General Electricity Corporation and all its branches to take immediate advantage of the shipment of oil derivatives provided by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen at an amount of (30) million dollars to secure the operation of power stations, out of (200) million US dollars for the same purpose during the coming period.
 Third: The Sustainable Petroleum Derivatives Fund:
 The Yemeni government and all relevant authorities in the Republic were directed to quickly complete the procedures for the Oil Derivatives Fund, with a value of (900) million dollars, of which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pledged to provide (600) million dollars, and 300 million dollars from the United Arab Emirates.
 Fourth: Deposit to the Central Bank of Yemen:
 Directing the Central Bank to expedite the procedures and reforms necessary to use the Saudi-Emirati deposit amounting to (2) billion US dollars in preparation for transferring it to its bank account.
 A higher committee will be formed to follow up the implementation of this plan and expedite its coordinated procedures with the various concerned authorities.
