Today, Sunday, the Executive Body of the Local Leadership of the Transitional Council in Abyan Governorate held its first periodic meeting for the month of November, headed by the Chairman of the Executive Body, Mr. Hassan Munser Ghaithan Al-Kazmi, and in the presence of the Vice Chairman of the Body, Mr. Ali Sheikh Al-Suri.

 The meeting was devoted to discussing the preparations for the carnival festival that the capital, Zanzibar, will witness in the coming days, coinciding with our people’s celebrations on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of National Independence Day, November 30. The meeting addressed the work and tasks of the working committees, the level of preparation and mobilization, and ways to make the festival a success, which will witness carnival displays of the cultural heritage that it abounds with Abyan Governorate.

The head of the Executive Body of the Transitional Council, Mr. Hassan Ghaithan, stressed the necessity of involving all the competent and effective authorities to contribute to the success of the activities of the carnival festival that the capital, Zanzibar, will witness, in fulfillment and honor of the sacrifices of the people of the south who struggled, won, and gave their lives in order to achieve independence and expel the British occupier on the 30th of November of the year 1967.
