Mr. Hassan Munser Ghaithan Al-Kazmi, interim chief executive of Abyan Governorate, met today in his office in Zanzibar, the capital of the governorate, with the Sports Clubs Coordination in Khanfar District, headed by Sheikh Hussein Al-Hazil.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Director of the Youth and Sports Department, Mr. Abd al-Raqeeb al-Sunaidi, Ghaithan heard from the presidency of the coordination, the objectives of the coordination, which are to extract the rights of athletes through official frameworks, lift the sporting situation, and preserve young people, to contribute to reducing the spread of the crime rate, avoiding extraneous phenomena, and assisting the security services in maintaining young people from engaging in drugs.
In the context of the meeting, which was attended by members of the National Assembly, Muhammad Al-Amoud, and Nasser Atef, Ghaithan praised the coordination’s efforts, pointing out the systematic targeting that the governorate was subjected to, affecting sports facilities and targeting cadres in various capacities and fields.
Ghaithan stressed that youth and sports are part of the southern project and attention to this sector is at the core and tasks of the Council’s leadership, which pays great attention to this segment as it is the basic pillar in building and developing society.
The meeting addressed the suffering and situation of sports clubs in Khanfar District in the absence of an operational budget that contributes to improving the reality of sports in the District.
Ghaithan stressed his keenness and interest in the demands of the coordination delegation and following up on all the issues that were raised, the most important of which is providing allocations for the clubs. He directed the Director of the Youth and Sports Department of the Governorate’s Transitional Council, Mr. Abdul Raqeeb Al-Sunaidi, to undertake the process of inventorying the clubs and submitting the statements to the Council’s leadership as a matter of urgency to work on following up on the procedures for approving an operational budget for the clubs with the political leadership of the Southern Transitional Council.
The meeting was attended by Captain Hossam Al-Haidari, Captain Salem Al-Mawzi, Captain Rashid Ghaleb, Captain Hussein Al-Shanbaki, and Captain Nazem Al-Faqir.
