On Sunday, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and Spokesman of the National Assembly, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, chaired an expanded meeting of military and security leaders in the capital, Aden.
The meeting was devoted to examining the performance of the security and military units, the progress of the security campaign, and the results achieved, in addition to discussing mechanisms for enhancing security readiness in the capital, Aden.
The meeting stressed the importance of continuing the security campaign in the capital, Aden, maintaining the escalating pace of performance, raising the level of coordination between the security services and military units, and strengthening the field work of military checkpoints at the entrances to the capital, Aden, to control any attempts to smuggle contraband, terrorist elements, and those wanted by security forces, and to curb all actions that disturb security and stability.
The meeting submitted a recommendation to President Commander Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Local and Sovereign Revenues, to direct the government to reduce the customs tariff on vehicles for a specific period, to encourage citizens to customs their vehicles in Aden and all the southern governorates.
The meeting touched on the role of community committees and social figures in supporting and assisting the efforts of the security and military services in establishing security and stability, and maintaining public tranquility throughout the districts.
The meeting praised the cooperation of the Southern Transitional Council leadership led by President Commander Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, and its continued support for all security and military efforts, and strengthening the work of the security services and military units in the capital, Aden, and the neighboring governorates, so that they can perform their tasks with all efficiency and ability.
