Al-Kathiri Chairs Expanded Security and Military Meeting

On Thursday, in the capital, Aden, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the National Assembly, chaired an expanded meeting of military and security leaders, in the presence of Mr. Fadl Muhammad Al-Jaadi, Secretary-General of the Transitional Council's Presidium, and members of the Council's Presidium, Major General Haitham Qasim Taher and Major General Kamal Hamshari, Director of the Council President’s Office.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Kathiri conveyed to the military and security commanders and all members of the Southern Armed Forces the greetings and congratulations of President Commander Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, on the occasion of the 60th National Day of the glorious October 14 Revolution.

In the meeting, which was devoted to discussing mechanisms for strengthening the security aspect in the capital, Aden, and neighboring governorates, and developing plans for coordination and integration between the various security and military agencies, Al-Kathiri praised the achievements made by the Southern Armed Forces at the military and security levels, stressing the need to raise security and military readiness and to be fully vigilant and prepared to implement proactive missions to thwart all threats and plans targeting the South, its people and its gains.

The meeting approved a number of firm decisions and tasks that must be implemented at the current stage, most notably the resumption of the campaign to prevent and control motorcycles of all types, and the seizure of unlicensed weapons and unnumbered cars, based on the decision of the Security Committee in the capital, Aden.

The meeting set Sunday, October 22, 2023, as the date for launching the campaign in all cities of the capital, Aden, with the participation of various security services, after giving the Security Committee in Aden, in its last meeting on October 4, a 10-day deadline for bicycle owners to remove them from the capital, Aden.
