Shabwa Defense Forces played a prominent role in establishing the foundations of security and stability in Shabwa Governorate and achieved great and remarkable achievements, especially in the field of combating terrorism and uprooting its elements. Shabwa Defense Forces revealed, with conclusive evidence, the truth about the involvement of the Houthi militia and the Brotherhood in standing behind terrorist operations and the sources of financing and feeding terrorism in the governorate and the south in general.

All of this evidence and confessions broadcast by Shabwa Defense Forces of field leaders of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, who were arrested during the past few days in various areas of Shabwa Governorate, after a careful monitoring and tracking of their movements, revealed the activity of Al-Qaeda and its leadership in Shabwa, its sources of funding and arming, and its places of departure from outside the governorate specifically from the governorates of Ma’rib and Al-Bayda, which are under the control of the Houthi militia and the Muslim Brotherhood, the Yemen branch.

The security successes achieved by Shabwa Defense Forces in their ongoing qualitative operations in uprooting terrorism, pursuing the remnants of its terrorist elements, and arresting two members of Al-Qaeda who during their investigations confessed to the names of the leaders of the organization, all of whom are from outside Shabwa Governorate and who use Ma’rib and Al-Bayda governorates as a main stronghold for launching their terrorist operations towards Shabwa districts, which were liberated by the southern armed forces in August last year from the Brotherhood and Houthi militias.

The two terrorists in Al-Qaeda, Ahmed Mubarak Al-Khader, “Abu Khaled Al-Dayani,” and the terrorist, Ahmed Mohsen Bawadah, confessed to the names of the organization’s leadership in Shabwa Governorate: “Munir Al-Ahdal,” “Abu Al-Hayja Al-Hadidi,” “Musab Al-Kazmi,” “Harun Al-Abi,” and “Abu Al-Fadl Al-Baidhani,” all of whom are from Al-Hudaydah, Abyan, Ibb, and Al-Bayda, according to their confessions that were broadcasted by Shabwa Defense Forces.

Al-Houthi and the Brotherhood are Sources of Funding and Armament

The two terrorists in Al-Qaeda, “Bawadah and Al-Dayani,” revealed the sources of funding, and logistical and financial support that Al-Qaeda receives from the Muslim Brotherhood and the Houthis, and the transfer of funds from the governorates of Ma’rib, Al-Bayda, and Sana’a to Al-Qaeda’s field leaders in Shabwa.

In the context of their confessions, the two terrorists confirmed that the sources of the drones obtained by Al-Qaeda were provided by a leader in Al-Qaeda called “Hamza Al-Mahjari,” who is based in Ma’rib Governorate, and he transported them to the town of “Khurah.” The leader of the organization is currently “Kamal Al-Sanaani.” who is carrying out attacks and bombing sites, especially in the town of “Al-Musaina,” to which they were transferred, in addition to targeting economic and oil facilities in the governorate, and obtaining explosive devices and detonating them through remote detonation devices that reach them from the Houthi militia and the Brotherhood through the governorates of Al-Bayda and Ma’rib, according to their confessions.

Terrorist Operations

The terrorists “Al-Diyani and Bawadah” also confessed to carrying out more than 10 terrorist operations, all of which targeted Shabwa Defense Forces during the past year and the current year, under the direct supervision of the leader of Al-Qaeda in Shabwa, Abu Al-Hayja Al-Hadidi. These operations were divided into armed attacks, explosive devices, and drones, in conjunction with a number of members of the terrorist organization, namely “Musleh Al-Harishi,” “Muhammad Abdullah Muka’,” “Hadi Abdul Karim Lakdam,” “Qani’ al-Abi,” “Harira al-Abi,” and “Khattab Qaifi" Al-Qaifi,“Batar Al-Sanani”, “Farouk Al-Humayqani”, and a large group.

These victories and achievements achieved by Shabwa Defense Forces in the fight against terrorism, which resulted in the arrest of a terrorist cell, including dangerous terrorist elements, recognized the supporting parties and sources of funding for Al-Qaeda in Shabwa Governorate and the starting places for their terrorist operations to attack the security and stability of the governorate, the tranquility of its people, and its economic interests, in service of the agendas of the Houthis and the Yemeni Brotherhood.

These security achievements come as an extension of the “ Arrows of the South” and "Arrows of the East" anti-terrorism operations led by the southern armed forces to purge the governorates of Shabwa and Abyan from the remnants of terrorist elements.
