Today, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the Southern Transitional Council's Presidium held its periodic meeting, chaired by Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Vice President of the Transitional Council, Chairman of the National Assembly, in the capital of the south, Aden.
The meeting stood before the general situation in the south in various fields and levels, foremost of which is the deteriorating living situation and basic services that have in all governorates, and which are getting worse in light of a systematic plan adopted by the hostile forces to try to subjugate the people of the south and weaken their leadership and its popular and political support, and undermine the resolve of the armed forces and southern security to pass its conspiratorial plans to undermine the national gains of the south and the sacrifices of its people.
An important political statement was issued at the meeting, which reads as follows:
In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
Masses of the great, patient and struggling people of the South, the Southern Transitional Council's Presidium has stood today before the rapid developments of events and their serious catastrophic repercussions that target the south, land and people, after the government and system of corruption and its president have exhausted the state’s financial treasury and brought the situation to the brink of bankruptcy to further impoverish and finish off people’s lives simultaneously with the military repercussions and the crowds on the borders of the south by the terrorist Houthi militia and the clear cooperation with the terrorist system with its various names, al-Qaeda and ISIS, and the continuous attack on the southern forces, the latest of which was the terrorist attack on Shabwa Defense Forces.
All these serious simultaneous economic, service and military developments came after the successes achieved by the people of the south in the southern national dialogue and the signing of the Southern National Pact and the great political achievement with the convening of the sixth session of the National Assembly in the city of Mukalla, and the historic visit of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council to Hadhramout governorate, where the people of Hadhramaut were, as usual, proactive in responding to the call of duty, and reflected with their great southern political momentum what caught the attention of the world and constituted a great impetus for the course of the cause of the people of the south with the coincidence of the external political movement and the political entitlement of the cause of the south.
And based on the historical responsibility that rests with the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, the Presidium examined these disastrous situations that are intolerable and useless with statements, speeches and appeals, and since the patience of the people of the south has exceeded its limits, and the situation has become unbearable, and we know that this silence is the silence of the brave, and that this patience is conscious, wise and realizing so that the enemies of the south do not achieve their desire to make the south an arena of chaos, turmoil and strife, so that terrorist organizations find their way to make Aden and the south a hotbed of terrorism.
People of the Great South:
These conditions produced by a government that does not feel the slightest sense of responsibility, and this has been described and explained many times, and since the Presidium of the Transitional Council proceeds from the literature, foundations and documents of the Southern Transitional Council to confirm today with clarity and transparency that the administration of the south is by its people with a national partnership according to what came in the National Pact, a partnership that has moved from words to action and is required by the circumstances of the dangerous stage, and that the Transitional Council's Presidium puts the final touches and practical mechanisms for the work of the Southern Executive Command, which was formed by a presidential resolution from President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, and which began to carry out its duties in this direction.
In this regard, the Presidium salutes the decision of the governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, who decided to use the revenues of the capital, Aden, to cover the requirements of the services of the capital, which is experiencing a catastrophic and tragic situation without electricity in a deadly summer, high prices and deteriorating services.
At the same time, the Presidium calls on the governors of the governorates to take similar decisions in the southern governorates.
On the military and security side, the Presidium salutes the heroic stances of the heroes of the southern armed and security forces, in their various formations, and urges them to be more vigilant, alert, and fully prepared to face potential developments hatched by the enemies of the south.
Accordingly, and in the face of what is required by the emergency situations, the Presidium decided to remain in permanent session and instructed all the bodies and institutions of the Transitional Council to remain in permanent session until further notice.
