President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, was briefed on field studies for the construction of a number of water barriers in Al-Dhalea Governorate, with the support of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, during his meeting on Tuesday with the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Al-Soqatri, and a number of officials in the ministry.

 During the meeting, which was attended by Engineer Fadl Saleh Khamis, Director General of Irrigation Facilities at the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Muhammad Naji, Director General of the Agriculture Office in Al Dhalea Governorate, Engineer Ammar Al-Awlaki, supervisor of agricultural sector projects, and Ammar Al-Douma, representative of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development for the implementation process, listened to a detailed explanation about the work of the field survey committee, and the tables of quantities prepared for the construction of a water dam in Sha’ab Al-Nasha’ area in Al-Dhalea district, and the construction of a water barrier in both Harir in Al-Husayn district.

The President stressed the speedy completion of the procedures for the two projects, and signing the implementation contracts with the implementing agency, to ensure timely completion, in accordance with the technical specifications and the special financing program for these projects.

The President appreciated the support provided by the brothers in the UAE to our country in various fields, especially the agricultural and irrigation sectors, calling on the competent authorities to make maximum efforts to benefit from these important development projects.
