President Al-Zubaidi: Resolving the Cause of the South is a Major Entrance to end the Region's Conflict

 President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Dupety Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received  His Excellency Stephen Fagin, Ambassador of the United States of America to Yemen.
 The meeting discussed developments in the political, economic and humanitarian situation in our country in light of the tireless efforts made by the regional and international communities to launch a comprehensive political process to end the war and establish a just and sustainable peace in the region.
 In this context, President Al-Zubaidi affirmed the readiness of the Presidential Leadership Council to engage in peace efforts led by the United Nations through the Council's negotiation team, and the need to develop a special framework for the issue of the people of the south in the upcoming political process as the key to a solution and a major entrance to ending the conflict in the region.
 The meeting also dealt with a number of issues related to the economic aspect and the efforts exerted to prevent the deterioration of the humanitarian situation as a result of the continued halt in oil exports. In this regard, President Al-Zubaidi discussed with the American ambassador ways to support the parity government to enhance resources, reduce expenditures, and carry out real financial and administrative reforms that the citizen will touch, through granting merchants importing through the ports under government control more facilities and putting an end to the arbitrary practices of the Houthi militia against merchants importing through the ports of the south.
 For his part, the US ambassador renewed his country's support for efforts to end the war and establish peace in our country through a comprehensive political process that includes various parties under the supervision of the United Nations, stressing at the same time the importance of the harmony of the Presidential Leadership Council and the cohesion of the parity government, calling on the international community to play a greater role in supporting the leadership council's efforts to re-export oil after the Houthi attacks that targeted the export ports in Shabwa and Hadhramout.
 The meeting was attended by Imad Mohammad, Director of the Office of the Dupety President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Saleh Al-Qaiti, representative of the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council, and Omar Al-Mashhadani, the political advisor at the US Embassy.
