President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the southern Transitional Council, Dupety-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council met on Wednesday, Steven Vagn Ambassador of the United States of America to Yemen via visual contact.
The meeting discussed in the country's political process, ways to end war and peace in the region, and the risks threatening regional and international efforts to stop the war in light of the continued escalation in the fronts, and the last targeting the Minister of Defense, the commander of the coalition forces, and the governor of Taiz by drones in Al-Kadha area of Taiz governorate at the beginning of this week, and the military escalation on Harib and northern Lahj fronts, and the continuation of the mobilization to Al-Dhalea and Markha fronts in Shabwa Governorate.
In this context, the President renewed its support for the efforts of peace and the political process led by the UN Secretary-General's envoy to Yemen and the efforts of the US envoy to launch a comprehensive peace process, affirming the readiness of the South Transitional Council to engage in the political process as a pivotal party representing the people of the south and their just cause, noting that resolving the southern issue in a way that meets their aspirations is the key to resolving all issues in the region.
The meeting discussed the developments of the humanitarian and economic conditions in our country and the difficulties faced by the Presidential Leadership Council and the parity government in providing services to citizens in light of the continued halt to the oil export process due to the Houthi attacks on oil installations in the governorates of Shabwa and Hadhramout.
In this regard, he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the support provided by the US government for emergency humanitarian response in our country and its support for the parity government in the security field and economic empowerment.
For his part, US Ambassador has renewed the condemnation of the new Houthi escalation in a number of fronts, and targeting the minister of defense in the parity government, stressing the his country's support to the presidential Leadership Council.
