The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council held its periodic meeting on Tuesday, chaired by the Secretary General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Council, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas.
At its meeting, Presidium expressed its rejection of any attempts to deport the issue of the people of the south, stressing that the attempt to postpone its resolution is a disavowal from the outputs of the Riyadh consultations and striking at the principle of consensus, which is unacceptable, and will lead to a worsening the situation at a stage that requires alignment to meet the current challenges.
The Presidium also recommended President Aidarous Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, the formation of a negotiating team that represents the issue of the people of the south in light of continued procrastination and the evasion of the entitlement to form a joint negotiating team in accordance with the provisions of the outputs of the agreement and the Riyadh consultations.
It stressed the Transitional Council's keenness to strengthen the role of institutions and bodies in the Leadership Council and the government and improve their performance by promoting consensus away from any unilateral measures. At the same time, it called on all representatives of the Council in state bodies to exert more efforts to enhance the performance of state institutions, both within the scope of its work and competence.
In another context, the Presidium discussed the annual evaluation report on the performance of the departments of the General Secretariat and local leaders, the coordinators of universities in the governorates for the year 2022, and its work plan for the year 2023.
As well as it discussed and took action on a number of topics related to the organisational and administrative aspects in the presence of the Deputy head of the Organisational Service Department of the Secretariat and the head of the Planning Department.
