The Supreme Economic Committee of the Southern Transitional Council held its periodic meeting for the month of January on Sunday in the capital Aden, chaired by Dr. Mohammad Ali Mtash, Chairman of the Committee.
The meeting stood before the recent decisions of the Council of Ministers related to raising the price of the customs dollar, electricity and water tariffs, and gas pricing.
The committee reiterated its position, which it had already announced rejecting these decisions, because the living situation of citizens cannot afford to add new burdens. In addition, these decisions took into account increasing the revenues of the state budget without taking any measures to reduce its expenses.
The meeting also discussed the topics included in the work plan, the activity of the committee between the two meetings, and what has been achieved during the past period, taking a number of actions, decisions, and recommendations.
