President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Dupety Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, today, Sunday, Her Excellency Anno-Erika Villianen, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Yemen.

The meeting discussed the developments in the political, humanitarian and military situation in our country, and the regional and international efforts being made to extend the UN armistice aimed at establishing peace and ending the war, in light of the continued Houthi rejection of all calls for peace.

 President Al-Zubaidi praised the distinguished relations between our country and the Republic of Finland, stressing that the Presidential Leadership Council looks forward to strengthening these relations and enhancing aspects of bilateral cooperation in various fields, most notably the rehabilitation, training and education sectors.

 The two sides also reviewed the situation in the southern governorates, the issue of the people of the south, and the aspirations of the people of the south to achieve their destiny and restore their state through sound and legal means guaranteed by international law.

 For her part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland affirmed her government's position in support of efforts to establish peace and end the war in our country, and reiterated Finland's readiness to provide aspects of support in the post-war phase and to support the wheel of development as a member of the European Union, expressing her aspiration to visit the capital, Aden, and see the situation there closely.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad Al-Ghaithi, Chairman of the General Department of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission in the Presidential Leadership Council, and Imad Mohammad, Director of the Office of the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council.
