The Southern Transitional Council bloc and a number of southern ministers in the parity government between the south and the north issued an important statement, which stating:
In The Name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful
 Press release
A number of southern ministers, including the Transitional Council bloc in the parity government between the north and the south, called today, Sunday, to hold an emergency meeting, to find out what the decisions of the Supreme Economic Council caused in terms of negative reactions to the people and the segment of the national capital.
They concluded that the negative reactions sparked by those decisions indicate that these decisions were not adequately studied by specialists, and were not discussed with those concerned in the Chamber of Commerce in the capital Aden and others, and that they were discussed in the Council of Ministers without a legal quorum, in the absence of many competent ministers.
The meeting emphasized that if these procedures were put in place to implement the conditions of international and regional donors in order to bring about radical reforms in the state’s financial policy with the aim of improving it in a way that reflects on community service, then all these decisions should be studied again carefully, so that they do not worsen people’s lives and take into account  their standard of living, and that these reforms do not affect the basic commodities of the citizen, as well as postponing raising the price of electricity and water tariffs and finding solutions to collect debts, and that other reforms that benefit the citizen and improve the level of state revenues be considered.
Those gathered warn that insisting on implementing this decision without understanding the observations received about it, and in light of the current living conditions, will lead to imbalances in the smooth availability of foodstuffs, high commodity prices, and what will result in exacerbating human suffering and destabilizing the security of society.
