The General Secretariat of the Transitional Council continues its field survey for human rights program by inspecting Bir Ahmed Central Correctional Facility

On Wednesday, for the third day in a row, the Human Rights Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council continued its field survey program to inspect prisons and correctional facilities, with an inspection visit to  Bir Ahmed Central Correctional Facility in Al-Buraiqa district of the capital, Aden.
 On the third day of the field survey program, the Human Rights Department, headed by Attorney Zikra Maatouk, head of the department, visited the Bir Ahmed Correctional Facility and met with Brigadier General Ghassan Abdel Bari, the Director of the Correctional Facility.
 The department team was briefed on the nature of the daily work, the most prominent practical activities in performing the tasks, the difficulties facing the workflow, and the requirements .
 The department's team toured the wards and sections of the prison, and listened to the prisoners about their conditions and the nature of the cases they are imprisoned in. They were also briefed on the various aspects of the environment surrounding their presence in the correctional facility.
 The team of the Human Rights Department also inspected the health unit in the correctional facility and got acquainted with its functioning and the health services it provides to prisoners.
 It is worth noting that the field survey program for Human Rights Department coincides with the International Human Rights Day, on  December 10 of each year.
