The General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council issued a press statement stating:
While the world celebrates the International Human Rights Day, December 10, we recall on this occasion the suffering of our southern people and their violated rights since 1994, as our people in the south were and still victims of treachery, killing, confiscation of rights and violations, which we see today in the practices of the Houthi militia and its attacks on civilians  and economic facilities in all the cities of the south, in addition to the practices of the first military district against the people of the south in the valley and desert of Hadhramout.
On this occasion, the foreign affairs of the Southern Transitional Council stresses the need for concerted local, regional and international efforts, to preserve human rights in the south and Yemen, and the need to establish a comprehensive political process to secure a political solution to the conflict that guarantees the right of the people of the south to address their cause, decide their fate and determine their political future in a way that achieves their aspirations.
