Mr. Fadl Mohammed Al-Jaadi, a member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council, Deputy Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Council, honoured Peter Rice on Wednesday on the occasion of the end of his term as Director of the Office of the United Nations Envoy in the capital Aden.
Al-Jaadi stressed that this honour comes in recognition of the efforts made by the Director of the Office of the United Nations Envoy in Aden in conveying the message of the Transitional Council to the United Nations presented in the people of the South's right to restore their state.
Al-Jaadi pointed out that the United Nations always seeks to adopt the demands of peoples to obtain their rights because the human rights law contained in the United Nations Pacts gives them the right to self-determination.
For his part, Mr. Peter Rice expressed his thanks and gratitude to the leadership of the Transitional Council, led by the Deputy Secretary-General for this honour, praising the role of the Transitional Council in facilitating the work of the Director of the Envoy’s Office in the capital Aden during his previous period of work.
