The Southern Armed Forces thwart an infiltration attempt by al-Qaeda members in Abyan

At dawn today, the southern armed forces thwarted a failed infiltration attempt by al-Qaeda terrorist elements towards the locations of our forces on the outskirts of Al-Mahfad District.
The commander of the 14th  Brigade, Brigadier-General Othman Moawadah, said in a statement to (Deraa Al-ganoob): "The forces of the brigade detected suspicious movements by al-Qaeda militants near one of the hills on the outskirts of the Al-Mahfad district and overlooking Omran valley, where these elements aimed to infiltrate to launch offensive operations against our forces''.
Brigadier-General Maawadah confirmed that the forces of the 14th  Sa’iqa Brigade were able to carry out a lightning strike that forced those elements to flee, noting that the purification strikes and the tracking of Al-Qaeda sleeper cells carried out by the Public Security Forces and the Security Belt Forces with the support of the Southern Armed Forces will not stop and will continue until all Abyan areas are  purified .
Brigadier-General Moawadeh thanked the leadership of the southern ground forces represented by Major General Ali al-Bishi and the leadership of  Abyan axis represented by Brigadier-General Mukhtar al-Nubi for their continuous support for the efforts made by the southern armed forces in Abyan governorate.
