Wednesday, October 19, the Internal Southern National Dialogue Team, headed by Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, met a group of eminent sheikhs, preachers and imams of mosques in the capital, Aden, as part of a series of meetings and consultations that the team is conducting at home, with the aim of uniting the southern ranks and converging views.
At the beginning of the meeting, the group welcomed the eminent sheikhs, preachers and imams, as the role they hoped for in consolidating the culture of dialogue, peace, tolerance and moderation was emphasized, and the rejection of extremism, violence, deviant behaviors and customs alienated from Islamic and southern values and morals.
The team stressed the importance of the active participation of all in the Southern National Dialogue, and the involvement of all intellectual energies to share visions and proposals in a way that contributes to the agreement and signing of the Southern National Pact, as an important reference in the future for organizing the Southern partnership in political decision-making and managing political differences in a civilized manner, if any.
For their part, the eminent sheikhs, preachers and imams expressed their satisfaction and good faith in the efforts made by the Southern Transitional Council, and the important visions that were sought aimed at spreading a culture of dialogue and acceptance of the other, appreciating the care and interest in organizing such meetings that benefit the rest of the people of the south.
The eminent people called on the sheikhs, preachers and imams to the necessity of solidarity and cooperation of all at this stage in order to confront the dangers that beset the south, whether on the military and political fronts, or those on the internal security, living and service front in order to lift the affliction and burdens on the shoulders of the citizen.
