President Commander Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice-President of the Presidential Leadership Council met on Thursday, September 29, via video call, His Excellency Peter der Hove, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Yemen.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed Ambassador Peter Hof, praising the solid relations between our country and Netherlands, praising in the context the efforts made by Ambassador Peter der Hof within the international community's endeavors to end the war and bring peace to the region.
The meeting has discussed possible ways to renew the UN armistice, as President Al-Zubaidi reiterated that the Houthi militia's continued intransigence and refusal to comply with calls for peace does not encourage moving forward in renewing the armistice.
Also, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated his call to the United Nations and the international community to put real pressure on the Houthi militia, stressing that it took advantage of the UN armistice to rearrange its ranks and prepare for a new war which it aims through to control the oil areas and disrupt international navigation in Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea.
The meeting has touched on the recent developments in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa and the victories achieved by the southern armed forces in Operation Arrows of the East, which targeted the hideouts of terrorist organizations in Abyan governorate, and the government's efforts to implement the required reforms to speed up obtaining the support pledged by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of United Arab Emirates to revive the economy.
For his part, Ambassador Hof expressed his thanks and gratitude to President Al-Zubaidi for providing the opportunity to discuss the latest political and economic developments in the country and the efforts made by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to establish security and stability and normalize life in it.
